Need to repair or replace a window regulator in my 73 Super,Ive got it all unbolted from the door, but i cant get it to drop out the bottom,Seems to be hanging up on something under the wing window.Wondering if there might be a place on the web I could see a schematic of the door.or maybe someone knows what I am missing.

Hi
Did You remove all the bolts?
it could be hung up on a bolt or thread poking out..
they are fiddly things even if you've done them before..

If the teeth in the winder has stripped You can drill out the rivets and turn the gear over and rivet it back in place..

Oil it as much as You can to get a good life from the winder mechanism..  I grease mine then pour oil all over it... lol

The hangup is the vent window, you have to remove the screws holding the top of the vent window and side , move it out of the way, install your window operator loosely, make sure the window operator is tucked under the door sill, reinstall your vent window, install your glass. If the glass is too tight for the operator, loosen the vent window screws, move vent forward and tighten. I recommed using WD 40 on the window tracks (up and down) and white lithium grease on the operator before installation .

Hi
its been a while since I did My doors.. lol
forgot about the 1/4 window.. lol
I soaked My window regulator in oil for a long time..
I have a few spares hanging up and i oil them every few months..

and I used a hook to slide in the new window channel so the glass slides easily
I'll see if I can find the hook [regular plant holder hook] photo.
I think its about 10mm wide and I slid it along the channel and just turned it slightly to widen the channel..
I don't use anything on the channel..

cheers

PS: We wear out the RHS regulators as we sit on the RHS... lol
