I am always watching old TV shows like Bewitched, Colombo etc...

where you will see the odd Beetle every time they show a street scene...

I did see a war movie a while ago and the lucky Germans were driving a VW thing type 181... ??

I also watched a Movie recently that was based on a true story...

and they showed the person [can't remember who it was] but it was supposed to be in Germany in the 50s and they showed a 1965> beetle

with the large windows...

You would think these people would get things correct...

Many late movies are being made in Australia - where cars are RHD...

the licence plates are made in reverse, so when the film is reversed to show a LHD car, the license plate is still correct....

The easiest flaw in Many Movies and TV shows is the Wipers...

In close ups, the wipers are usually missing... later they appear...

Gotta chime in on this...

Ever notice that Stephen King has had a few VW's in his books and movies?

Example, The SHining, both in the book and then there is "Jack" behind the wheel climbing them there Colorado Rockies, to the eerie Overlook hotel, thing of it was, they used a too dependable car to get them there....

68Autostick beat me on the  movie "The Dead ZOne", but true to nature, he's wiping the foggy window with his sleeve....

Simpson's alot of cars styles can be spotted, I think they have a car nut drawing backgrounds...

OK, some I don't think were mentioned, Dukes of Hazzard, always ONE on the square, and then Boss's Cousin? Drove a White 'Vert.

And here's one I had to look up on the I.M.D.B., to see if the show existed, and it does, Dog and Cat, a one episode only cop show that followed Starsky in Hutch in their waning year of '77. The gal, rookie cop, drove a suped up VW.

If you guys wanna see some WILD VW footage, check out you tube!

NICE. Last night on Prison Break one of the convicts took a guys blue Standard Beetle (or Vocho) in Mexico and headed on down the road. It will be on again next week. You are sure to see tons of Beetles. I've been to Mexico and they are everywhere!!

Now how can I get a 2003 Ultima Edition Beetle into Canada?

On this weeks "Lost" they found an old Bay Window Bus on the island and got it going by bump starting it. This reminds me of the Woody Allen movie "Sleeper" where they found and old VW Bug that had been sitting in a cave for two hundred years. With a turn of the key it fired up immediately and Woody simply said, "They sure build these".

I watch too much TV

You got that right, Cali seems to be "still" chock full of them....
I think in Bullitt they pass the same one on different streets a few times.
CHiPs always seemed to have one in a scene.
But, did anyone catch the "Rides" episode, where Jay Leno heard about a Duesenberg tucked away in a garage? If I recall right, he and his crew had to move several VW's (Vintage!) to get at the find....

Friday the 13th

There are a couple in the various movies.
One I can remember right off hand is when, A couple campers are tooling down a "shortcut" back road and run into Jason.
Who kills them!

Anyone mention Footloose?

Saw a beetle in Bloodsport today, it's in a scene with the guys after frank dux talking to the local police.

The Harvey Fierstein movie from 1987, based on his Tony Award-winning play, "Torch Song Trilogy."  A guy he meets in Manhattan drives him home to Brooklyn in a blue vintage Beetle.

There is the yellow Beetle in the new Transformers movie that the new Bumble Bee (A Camaro) slams his door into. Which is crazy because the original Bumble Bee was a Beetle. I guess a Volkswagen wouldn't look tough enough along side a Pontiac Solstice, go figure

"I Dream of Jeannie."  Stock footage of the parking lot that was supposed to be right out side Dr. Bellows's office window at NASA.  Parking lot full of wonderful old cars from the period, plus a Tan '58-'61 Beetle.

Dazed and Confused had a nice white convertable beetle with a red interior as well as what appeared to be a red Super Beetle.
