I saw a recent movie, "Hide and Seek" yesterday, with Robert De Niro, and Dakota Fanning, and someone they meet after they move, drives an early beige beetle.

Sin City. When one of the characters is driving up the mountain he pulls out and passes a slow moving VW Bus.

In the new sitcom "My name is Earl", there is an orange Beetle sitting across the street in a service station. You can see it just before Earl gets hit by the car and loses his $100,000.00 scratch ticket. The show is very funny!

Actually that Beetle is driven by one of the main characters (Locke) when he does the flashback to the past thing. I've seen it many times in the show. Can you tell I watch way to much TV?

It always amazes me how in many of these movies and TV shows with a bug how the sound dubed in isn't the VW engine sound.

"Boyz n the Hood" (1991) has a blue one that Tre Styles (Cuba Gooding Jr.) Drives throughout the movie. I haven't seen it in a few months, but I think it (or another one) was in the film earlier with a different paint job, and belonged to Tre's father, Jason "Furious" Styles (Laurence Fishburne). Seemed John Singleton was throwing into the movie that these cars are excellent machines, and should be passed on to our children as their first cars, or he just really likes them too.

Last night we were watching CSI and a woman named "Sage" drove up in a Super convertible. It was interesting that she was a free-spirited hippie type of character.

It's a Newbee, so I know it doesn't exactly count, but the character, Page, from the t.v. show "Charmed" drives a green New Beetle.  Since the show takes place in San Fransisco, one does see the odd air-cooler buzzing about in exterior production shots as well.

Oh, yes!  I also saw a red one on "CSI", once.  I believe the owner of the Bug "buys it" it in the first five minutes of the show.  "Buys the farm" that is, not the Beetle.
