The Blues 2.jpg

The Blues is at my 86 year old VW Mechanic's house having a valve job and tune up. He has been working on her for since the late 70's. He has to pull the engine. The mileage is over 300,000 and has had a hot oil smell after taking 'er out. So, we will be glad to have that gone. He has overhauled this engine twice over the years. Next is converting the AC from R12 freon to 134. The system has a leak somewhere and won't hold freon. After me finding 8 cans of R12 on Craigslist a few years back. I have always been able to put freon into the system. The AC is one of the things that makes this 1973 Super Beettle unique and special.

The original paint color back in 1973 was Texas Yellow. It is now Electric Metalic Blue.  Been that way for at least 30 years.  It has a few minor issues..dings. Not real bad.  Eventually after I get some other things fixed she'll be repainted.  Same color.

Sounds like a plan. I like the new color. It provides a modern touch.
