Hi everyone.. i am John and I have just restoed a 1971 suprbug that I have for my son..I have a problem with my suspension..if I have passengers in the back my tyres rub on the guards..the torsion bars are adjusted to maximum height and still no relief..is there any way I can adjust the suspension so that it doesnt sag so bad.I am thinking about putting airbags in to assist..

Do you have the stock tire and wheels setup? If your offset is too wide or the tires too tall you will have issues. Is your Super level or hanging low in the back?

I had the same problem with my 1974 Super Beetle, I didn't want to rebuild or readjust the torsions so I got adjustable coil over shocks for the rears and after two clicks on each shock my cars rear tires are straight up and down, no leaning in or out.
