Just bought a '71 super that's all restored except for a few items. It has a rear window defroster but the wires aren't connected to it and I don't see a defroster switch on the dash (new). Any ideas on this? thanks Bill

My 76 has a unmarked rocker switch under the dash that operates the rear window defogger when it worked.(it's been worked over with a scraper to many times to work any more)  It's stock VW so I would be willing to bet that you will probably find one under your dash also.

That's where my is too on my 73 Super.  Once you break any of those little wires the parties over.  It's one of two things that came from the factory on mine that no longer work.  The other is the seat buzzer that warned you and your passenger that their seatbelts weren't engaged.  By the way...you can sometimes find old windsheilds that are still working.

My '71 had the rocker switch facing downward under the dash just above my left leg.
