I would like to replace one of the floor pans on my 1302LS Convertible.
Can I use a 1302 floor pan for a std beetle - are they the same or do the convertibles have a different style of floor.

Super cuts off after a couple mins of driving.

I finally got my car running! It idle's fine and starts up whenever I start it. When I drive my 72 super down the road it acts fine at first but I think when it starts to get hot? it just cuts off completely and doesn't want to turn back on until its cool again. any thoughts? ps. it idles fine for 5 or even 10 mins strait and doesn't show signs of wanting to shut off.

parts I have replaced to get it started, battery,starter,spark plugs, spark plug wires, 009 distributor, fuel pump flang(that was broken)fuel lines.

Where was made my VW Beetle?.

Hello, please help me, I have a new beetle of year 1975, the motor code is AS2579, but when I search my chasis number in the list (chasis number 115-2235324), the associated motor code start with "AJ".

How I know if my VW was made in Germany, USA or Mexico.

Replacing rear windsheild

Does anyone have any insight into replacing a '65 standard beetle rear windsheild with one from a '74 Super? It seems to be the same size and all. The reasoning being that i would like to have the defroster element added, and since I have this other glass already, it may, or may not, make life easier.

Brake/Reverse light

Hi!
i recently purchased a 1303 super beetle and everythings been running fine until recently my brake lights and reverse lights suddenly stopped working, i have checked the fuse box and the fuses seem ok just not sure where else to look.
any help would be great. thanks.

1971 Super Beetle accelerator pedal, spring, clip, etc

I need to rebuild my accelerator pedal including spring...does anyone know of a diagram that's available .....I can't figure out the exact way to put the spring, locking clip, etc. Thanks for your help.

My Beetle suddenly stopped in Macdonalds carpark 30kms from Home and without a torch...lol

Yes.
Friday night at 8pm, and just leaving MacDonalds carpark when My beetle just stopped.. and would not restart...

All My 11 LED torches/flashlights were all safe at home...
My first guess was the electric fuel pump or relay that switches it on. located under the fuel tank.. they checked out OK..

I couldn't see anything without a torch/flashlight so I rang My Son who lived nearby to bring a light...
We tested the power going to the relay and fuel pump and no worries... so, We had a look at the engine... with a light..
the fuel pressure gauge showed We had 2 psi of Gas...
so, it wasn't that... \
I disconnected the High Energy Ignition system and plugged the New condensor in and screwed it back onto the dizzy...

The engine started first go...
so back to the kettering ignition system,, lol

for a while anyway...

I have a new SVDA Single vacuum dual advance 034 Distributor to install in the future.. also a pertronix pointless kit to fit too..

I just need to change the position of the oil coolers and place them under the car... out of the engine bay..

My beetle is going like a rocket... lol
and i'm back using standard unleaded fuel..
and getting better economy and power.... LOL ???

new 009 distributor

I replaced my old distributor with and new 009 distributor. My old distributor had 2 vacuum lines going to the carburetor, now I have no lines going to the carburetor. Do I plug up the holes on the carburetor now or does it matter?

(if plugged I was going to cut the old line and screw a screw into the end of it thus sealing up the end)

I've searched and searched, but cannot seem to find anyone that has a right outside front SPINDLE for my Super. Does anyone have a source or maybe a part that is in great shape (for being 36 years old!) I am in DESPERATE need because Layla is my ONLY vehicle!

I cannot seem to get my engine to idle with anything I do, but I can keep it on with reving the throttle constantly. But after I let the engine die, only both the right side pipes are blistering hot where the left two muffler pipes are luke warm??? But the engine sounds normal just not ideling. Has anyone had this happen to them? thx

Clutch arm problem

i have a 1970 VW beetle and the clutch blew out. i got a clutch kit from napa and the pressure plate has a metal ring around the fingers of the pressure plate that wasnt on the original. When i put the engine back in the clutch lever now points to the rear of the car when it should be vertical. This makes it so the clutch cable isnt long enough to adjust. Whats the problem? i have an early transaxle and throwout bearing.
